Sky Sports News are reporting that Ryan Nelsen has signed a contract extension. This news has yet to be confirmed officially by Rovers but, if true, will effectively see Nelsen finish his career at Ewood Park.
Blackman Pens New Deal
Rovers have confirmed this morning that striker Nick Blackman has signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal. This season Blackman has been on a half-year loan with Scottish Premier League side Motherwell for whom he has scored 10 goals in 18 appearances. The new deal will run until the summer of 2013.

Product of Rovers’ Academy and reserve team player Josh Morris has signed a two-year contract with the club (with an option to extend for a third year).
Pedersen Signs New Contract
Rovers have announced that the Morten Gamst Pedersen contract saga is finally over, with the midfielder signing a new 4-year deal which will keep him at the club until 2014. Chairman John Williams told the club’s official website (www.rovers.co.uk) he was delighted that Morten had signed a new deal. Sam Allardyce, who is on holiday, will be delighted, as he sees Pedersen as a key member of the squad. John Williams also confirmed that finding a striker was now the “summer priority”. Pedersen has made 240 appearances for Rovers, scoring 38 goals.
Jones Signs 5-Year Deal
Rovers have announced that highly-rated defender Phil Jones has signed a new 5-year deal. The 18-year-old’s new deal sees him contracted until the summer of 2015.
Big Sam Issues Ultimatum To Morten
Sam Allardyce has become increasingly frustrated by the continuing saga involving Morten Gamst Pedersen and signing a new contract. He has now issued the player with an ultimatum. Speaking to the press, Sam said: “I’m sick of it. Speak to the chairman. It’s his baby, not mine. He deals with the finances. Magpies Eye Roberts
Reports in the national media are linking Newcastle with a £1 million move for Rovers striker Jason Roberts. Last week Roberts expressed dissatisfaction at not getting regular first team football at Rovers this season. In other news Morten Gamst Pedersen’s agent has told the Lancashire Telegraph that his client is happy at Ewood Park but would not be drawn on whether he would sign a new contract. Rovers are hoping to get a decision from Morten ahead of the Arsenal game.
