Greatest Ever Team
  Fred Else

92er - Fred Else was a "B" international when we signed him in Aug 1961. Had 4 great seasons followed by 1 that was a total disaster, during which he declined. He was very reliable and rarely injured.

  Harry Leyland
92er - Harry Leyland was not an overnight success and was not the shape of most athletes.Excellent at one-on-ones.Very popular -even away crowds liked him

  Jim Arnold
waggy - jim arnold was magnificent when he played in the kendall era

Jim Royle - I'll be the one that has gone for Jim Arnold, then.

He certainly seemed like the best goalkeeper in the world at the time, mind that was probably because he was taking over from John Butcher.

Out of all those listed he certainly had the biggest stepped improvement on the overall team in relation to his predecessor.

den - Arnold came from non-league, I think. Stafford Rangers? He was a fantastic keeper at the time he played for rovers, one of the most agile I've ever seen.
