Brownie - Socksy was a gem, one of the main reasons we won the League.
The cross he made for Shearer's goal on VE day defied logic.
His cross for Shearer to head the winner against Leeds in the last minute at home, equally so.
As much as I loved JB JB John Baliley when I was young, we are talking different class here.
Dr Rich - 2) Graeme Le Saux. The best left back in recent years. Won a Premier League Championship medal with Rovers. Good enough to play a few games for England. Will probably be voted No 1 by most on this board.
Dave Birch - Le Saux-The educated mans (womans) fullback, The best of his era, the overlapping fullback. In some ways, it's a pity he got old, and the rovers shafted their Prem side.
Manchester Blue - You don't play for England as often as he did without being great, or win Championsip medals either for that matter. The difference between this and the right back is that we haven't had a decent right back for so long. People can deride Le Saux but many on this board watched him regularly and know first hand that he was the best left back in the league at the time.
